A Passion for Barbecue Mixed with a Love of Family and Friends

Poppy’s Butt Shak was born from a passion which Dave Partin, Sr. (Poppy to his family members) had for cooking and sharing his barbecue, along with other special dishes; not only with his family, but his church, special functions and his many, many friends. For more than 70 years, Poppy perfected his barbecue recipes, passing his secrets on to just a few lucky family members.

Mission

Through Poppy's Butt Shak, the Partin family is honored to share Poppy’s passion and love of barbecue with as many new friends as we possibly can. Regardless of your travels in life, the Poppy’s Butt Shak family feels that once you try our barbecue, specialty foods and sauces, you will agree with so many others that Poppy definitely got it right!

Legacy

Poppy entered heaven at the ripe young age of 91, but his love and passion of barbecue stayed here with his earthly family. If Poppy could come back from heaven even for just 5 minutes, he would say “Remember, life is short. Love the Lord with all your heart, love life and treat others as you would want to be treated.”
I have a feeling he would also say,

“Eat more Poppy’s”
